All is now set for the mother of all awards holding at The New Ekpo hall Eko Hotel and Suite.
The award which has been the talk of the town for several weeks has become the most anticipated event in the calendar for the events of 2011. And the organizers are leaving no stones unturned to make sure it is a memorable experience for Artistes, fans and music lovers who will grace the occasion.
Already, a 150- man content and technical crew has arrived Lagos since Tuesday seeing to it that there is no problem in terms of sound and content.
And the nominees, presenters and performers have already arrived at the Eko Hotel on Friday October 21, 2011 to continue rehearsals for the D-Day.
The award plaques popularly called ‘Headie’ which was designed by ACE Awards England arrived Nigeria on Wednesday October 19, 2011. A total of twenty one plaques made up of 21 carat gold will be given out to deserving music industry professionals whose works have been screened by a team of select critics and practitioners commissioned by the organizers.

Artistes in the next rated category Tiwa Savage, WizKid, Ice Prince and Olamide. The winner will emerge by voting. Last year, Skuki beat Mo’Cheddah, D’Prince, Jesse Jagz and General Pype, and rode home in a brand new 2009 Kia Optima.
This year, organizers have raised the notch higher offering the next rated acts a brand new 2011 Hyundai SUV.
The hosts for this year’s Awards- Eldee and Rita Dominic are more than ready to thrill fans and introduce guests after series of Rehearsals ‘there is no doubt that we’d blend like a perfect pair’ eLDee says.
This Saturday, Fifty Eight (58) artistes will battle to win a desirable “Heady”
The awards celebrate contemporary genres and personalities loved by the youths and young adults all over the country including Rap, R&B, pop and other genres.
The first three editions of Hip hop world awards held in Lagos, Nigeria while 2009 saw the awards move to Abuja, Nigeria. In 2010, the awards held at the EXPO hall, Eko Hotel, the same venue that will host the 2011 edition come October 22, 2011.
