About 100 people have been arrested in connection with ghost workers-fraud schemes in local governments, Local Council Development Area (LCDA) and Local Government Education Authorities (LGEA) of Lagos State.
A statement from the office of the Permanent Secretary/Auditor General for local governments, Mohammed Hassan, said over N82 million has been recovered from the fraudsters.
According to Hassan, the discovery was a major breakthrough for the Babatunde Fashola administration in its bid to tackle the menace of ghost workers in the state.
The arrested persons were ghost workers and impersonators of deceased pensioners.-DAILYTIMES
