The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, on Friday named CSP Olaolu Adegbite, as its new Director of Operations.
A statement by Mr Wilson Uwujaren, EFCC’s Acting Head, Media & Publicity, made available to reporters said that that Adegbite, until his appointment , was head of the Advance Fee Fraud Section of the body.
Uwujaren said that Adegbite had been head of the unit since the inception of the EFCC in 2003.
He described Adegbite as a crack detective whose imprints were visible in some of the major operations of the Commission.
Uwujaren said that prior to his secondment to the EFCC in 2003, Adegbite had served as a detective in the Special Fraud Unit of the Nigeria Police between 2000 and 2003.
He said that the new Director of Operations, who enlisted in the Police in 1992 as an Assistant Superintendent of Police, had also headed the Homicide and Anti-Robbery Sections of the Edo Police Command.(NAN)
