The lower tribunal had nullified Mr. Dakingari's election on the ground that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) did not provide the statutory Distribution Forms for the election.
By today's ruling the Supreme Court ordered another election in 90-days. Mr. Dakingari would probably win the re-run because the ruling party typically wins such election rerun aided by INEC and police
Dakingari is late president Umaru Yar'Adua's son-in-law, his third wife is Yar'Adua's second eldest daughter, Zainab.
