According to AfricanExaminer, former Head of State and Presidential candidate for the Congress for Progressive Change (CPC) has been ejected from his Abuja residence following his inability to pay the rent on the property he has use of when in Abuja.
According to the reports, when the Landlord of the property which is situated at Number 11 Queen Elizabeth Street, Asokoro, Abuja realised that Buhari was unable to raise the funds for the rent, he offered to reduce the rent to N15million in the hopes that this would be within the retired General’s budget but alas this was not to be.
Furthermore according to the reports, the original rent was paid for by Retired General Theophilus Danjuma and this time around when friends of Buhari suggested he approach Nasarawa State Governor, Alhaji Umaru Almakura for financial assistance, Buhari refused saying he would rather maintain his integrity. Similar suggestions to speak with President Goodluck Jonathan was met with resistance.
Buhari has since moved his base to Kaduna.
