Governor Adams Oshiomhole of Edo State has given the state police
command two weeks to fish out the killers of his private secretary and
the three journalists who died at last weekend’s convoy crash.
The governor, who gave the ultimatum after he led party leaders and
other members of government on a protest along major streets in Benin
City, said "no one has the monopoly of evil" and warned leaders of the
opposition to "repent from their ways".
The Principal Secretary to the governor, Oyerinde Olaitan, was
assassinated at about 1am on Friday by four gunmen who broke into his
house in Ugbor GRA, Benin city.
Last week, a truck ran into the governor's motorcade, killing three journalists attached to the Edo State Government House.
