Guaranty Trust Bank Plc (GTBank) has introduced the ‘GTBank Seniors Account’ for those that are 70 years and above.
A statement from the commercial bank Tuesday said the banking product was designed to allow indigenous persons, within the aforementioned age and above, to enjoy all banking services offered by the bank for free. It said no bank in the country has such an offering.
Commenting on the product, Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer, GTBank, Mr. Segun Agbaje, said, “We are an institution that deeply believes in African values like respect, family, honesty and social responsibility. It is in this regard that we introduced this new current account for Nigerians aged 70 years and above, which allows them bank for free.”
According to Agbaje, GTBank Seniors account holders would enjoy free cheque book and Automated Teller Machine card issuances as well as transactions from charges. He also said that those within the age bracket would also enjoy priority treatment at all GTBank branches nationwide.
“GTBank has always been at the forefront of industry innovations within the Nigerian financial services sector. The bank’s most recent introductions include a ‘FastTrack’ banking system that allows customers withdraw money within its branches using their debit cards, the GTCrea8 eSavers virtual account for undergraduates and the GTBank e-account for salary earners, which enables them conduct all their banking activities without having to visit any of its branches,” he added.
The statement further said that premium account was also introduced to recognise, “applaud and appreciate the invaluable efforts and contributions of the present day Nigerian’s senior citizens towards national development over the years.”
