India’s first Bollywood superstar, Rajesh Khanna passed away in his Mumbai home today at the age of 69.
Khanna was battling with health issues and was under medical supervision but had just been discharged from a Mumbai hospital.
His death has been a heavy blow to the whole country as many V.I.P’s including government officials have lamented the loss of the actor.
India's Prime Minister Manmohan Singh paid tribute to the legendary actor in a message stating, “I convey my heartfelt condolences to the members of the bereaved family and countless fans and admirers of Rajesh Khanna.”
Khanna will be cremated Thursday in Mumbai.
