VICE PRESIDENT,SAMBO PREACHES PEACE,PLEADS WITH NIGERIANS

Vice President Namadi Sambo Friday appealed to Nigerians to embrace peace, eschew bitterness and put all hands on deck to ensure that they build Nigeria into a prosperous nation.
Sambo made the appeal at the Juma'at service at the National Mosque, Abuja to mark the 2012 Armed Forced Remembrance Day Celebrations where he reminded Nigerians that the country was passing through tough times and needed the collective efforts and resolve of all to ensure peaceful co-existence. 


A statement from the Special Adviser to Sambo on Media and Publicity, Alhaji Umar Sani said his Principal used the opportunity to assure Nigerians that the administration cannot set out to deliberately inflict pains on Nigerians and expressed optimism that the impasse on removal of fuel subsidy would soon be amicably resolved.

"There is great hope for this country, as you are aware, just yesterday, we had dialogue with labour and Insha Allah, with the guidance of Almighty Allah and our prayers it will soon be resolved," he assured.
Sambo who said development was not possible without peace called for Allah's intervention to ensure peace while he urged Nigerians to co-operate with security agencies to ensure that the security challenges were collectively tackled.
According to him, "we are at a challenging period in this country, where we all need to put our hands on deck in ensuring that we live peacefully with each other. The Armed Forces, the Para-military, including all Nigerians have the responsibility for ensuring peace."
The Chief Imam of the National Mosque, Ustaz Musa Mohammed, offered prayers for the souls of officers that died in the course duty and also for the health of the surviving ex-servicemen.
