The First Lady Dame Patience Jonathan, will on Wednesday, December 19, 2012 light the first Nigerian National Christmas Tree.
The Christmas tree, is 20.9 meter high and is located at the Unity Fountain Park, besides the Transcorp Hilton Hotel, Abuja.
The tree is decorated with the national colours: green and white.
‘It is consequently our anticipation
that an annual lighting of the Nigerian National Christmas Tree will
play a similar unifying role for our people’, Minister of State for FCT, Oloye Olajumoke Akinjide noted.
The project is an initiative of the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA).
