Two people were killed, while 23 others sustained injuries when a
commercial bus crashed into a stationary truck on the Lokoja-Abuja
Expressway on Thursday.
Segun Olapade, the Kogi State Sector Commander of the Federal Road
Safety Commission (FRSC), who confirmed the incident, said it occurred
at about 1 a.m. on Thursday at a spot in Crusher area of the busy
highway.
He said a total number of 69 persons were in the vehicles involved in the accident.
The bus belongs to the Young Shall Grow Transport Company.
He blamed the accident on over-speeding on the part of the luxury
bus driver; adding that the corpses of the two male casualties had been
deposited at the morgue of the Federal Medical Centre, Lokoja.
He said all those injured were also being attended to in the same hospital.-DAILYTIMES
