After an anonymous tip, 54 year old Bimbo Oyewole has been arrested; 20 years after assuming the identity of the victim of an unsolved murder, so he could hide his illegal immigrant status.
He had worked undetected for this whole time first as a security guard then as a security supervisor at the Newark International Airport.
Speculation is now rife as to whether he will be implicated in the murder of Jerry Thomas (the identity he assumed) as both the murder and Bimbo’s assumption of Jerry’s identity occurred in the same year.
The fact that he had gone through all background checks, was given clearance and had fooled the TSA for over two decades, raises a lot of questions regarding security at the airports.
He faces charges including identity theft, authorities said.
