TAIBAT, A FEMALE ESTATE AGENT DUPES 200 PEOPLE

The police at Ojo Division have arrested a 34-year old woman estate developer, Mrs Taibat Aruna, for allegedly defrauding over 200 prospective tenants.
The victims allegedly paid millions of naira to the woman for 11 self-contained apartments in two bungalows in Ojo area of Lagos State, southwest Nigeria.
The victims this morning stormed Ojo Police Station, in protest and pleaded with the police to recover their money from her.
Taibat allegedly collected the money from the victims and used it to build the bungalows at Alimi Street, Ira and Esa Square, both in Ojo Local Government.

Nigerian aviation authorities have again suspended the operations of Dana Air whose plane crashed last year, killing 163 people.
The Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority, NCAA, said on Sunday night that Dana has been suspended for precautionary measures after the airline had an air return.
“I can confirm the suspension of Dana Air’s operations to you,” said Fan Ndubuoke, spokesperson of the NCAA.
“They had an air return from Port Harcourt and they have been suspended for precautionary measures. The airline is under investigation,” he said.
He said he did not know how long the suspension will last.
The suspension of Dana came three days after a 23-year old plane belonging to Associated airline crashed in Lagos, killing 14 people and another plane belonging to Kabo airline crashlanded in Sokoto with 512 souls on board.

SAUDI-BOUND JET MAKES EMERGENCY LANDING IN SOKOTO AS TYRES EXPLODE MID-AIR

A Saudi bound Kabo Air plane carrying 400 passengers from Kano made an emergency landing at the Sir Abubakar III international Airport in Sokoto early today.
Boeing 747 jumbo jet left Kano on Friday en route to Saudi Arabia had to divert to Sokoto after several of its tyres exploded immediately after it took off the Aminu Kano International Airport in Kano.
All the passengers aboard the airline have been evacuated from the plane and lodged in a hotel in the ancient city. -Sahararepoters

LATE TASTY FRIED CHICKEN EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR BURIED

Tears flowed on Thursday as the remains of the Executive Director, De Tastee Group, the parent company of Tastee Fried Chicken, Mr. Oluwabunmi Adedayo, were buried.

Oluwabunmi, who is the only child of owners of the TFC, died on September 25, 2013 at 36, after a brief illness in the United States. May his soul rest in Peace

PAUL EMEJUE ARRESTED WITH COCAINE WORTH N57M

A 32-year-old textile merchant, Paul Emujue, has been arrested by officials of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency for importing 5.745kg of cocaine worth N57m.

Emujue was said to have hidden the cocaine inside laptop bags. He was said to be on his way from Sao Paulo, Brazil, when he was apprehended at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos.

A statement by NDLEA Head of Public Affairs, Mr. Mitchell Ofoyeju, said NDLEA Commander, Mr. Hamza Umar, confirmed the arrest.

Umar said, “The drug was detected during the inward screening of passengers on Etihad flight. The cocaine was ingeniously packed in laptop bags such that we had to cut the bags open to detect the drug. The suspect could have escaped arrest, had the drug not been detected.”

Ofoyeju, however, said investigation had commenced into the case and Emujue, who hailed from Anambra State, would be charged to court at the conclusion of investigation.

NDLEA spokesperson said the suspect was single and dropped out of school in Junior Secondary School in 1988.

The secondary school dropout said, “I ventured into drug trafficking because of frustration. For the past 10 years, I have been dealing in textiles in Togo. In 2011, I relocated to Brazil in search of greener pastures.

“Unfortunately, my business did not flourish as I had expected. I was assured that I could make enough money from drug trafficking to invest in my business. I decided to give it a trial and I was arrested in the process.”

NDLEA Chairman, Ahmadu Giade, said, “The agency will continue to arrest drug traffickers and charge them to court. This arrest is commendable. Members of the public must note that it is wrong to raise capital from drug trafficking because anyone that ventures into the criminal act will be prosecuted. I urge stakeholders to partner with the NDLEA in fighting drug trafficking.”

Samuel Ani, a casket (coffin) dealer from Ugwuaji community in Enugu South Local Government Area of Enugu State was arrested by operatives of Anti-Kidnapping Unit of the Enugu State Police Command, weekend, for attempting to dupe his brothers of N2 million under the guise that he was abducted by kidnappers.

Ani, whose coffin shop is at Garki, Awkunanaw area of Enugu, allegedly hid himself in a bush behind his shop for six days and alerted his brothers that he was in a kidnappers’ den.

The state Police Public Relations Officer, Mr. Ebere Amaraizu, who confirmed the arrest, yesterday, said the suspect “never knew that his sin shall find him.

He said: “Samuel Ani hid himself in a bush behind his shop for six days from where he was making phone calls to his two younger brothers in a very convincing tone that he had been abducted and that N2 million was required to get him out of the kidnappers’ den or else he would be killed.
