Police arrested Patricia Krentcil, 44, of Nutley, New Jersey, after they were
called out to her daughter Anna's elementary school.
The child reportedly told the school nurse she was in pain from burns she
suffered while "tanning with mommy".
But deeply-tanned Patricia said it was all a big misunderstanding, adding: "It's
preposterous."
She claimed the child's sunburn was a result of "playing outside on a sunny day".
